Giving Back

one-fund-donation

For those of you who don’t know, I am a very avid runner. I’ve run over twenty full marathons and too many half marathons to count. April 15th will mark the one year anniversary of the bombing at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Not only does running have a special place in my heart, but so does the city of Boston. These events impacted me greatly. Running is a sport that brings thousands of us so much joy. We train for months just to be able to cross that finish line of whatever race we’re training for, whether it be a 5K or a 50K. When those bombs went off at the finish line, I found a new reason to run… Every race I run, I now dedicate to the victims of that tragic day… Some who will never be able to run again. Running is such a huge part of who I am that I can’t even fathom having that taken away from me.

Because of this, I understand the ongoing medical needs for the victims of that tragedy will be immensely expensive and I like to do my part to give back to Boston, the running community, and the victims of that tragic day.

So, from April 13th through April 19th, I will be donating 100% of all my book sales of A Beautiful Mess and A Tragic Wreck to The One Fund.

You can purchase these books here.

***ANNOUNCEMENT***

Morning all! In case you missed the big announcement yesterday on FB, twitter & instagram, here’s a blog post about it!

For those of you who don’t know, I LOVE to run. It’s an obsession of mine. April 15 will mark the one year anniversary of the bombings at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. This tragedy effected me personally, as I went to college in the Boston area and am an avid marathoner.

As a runner, you train for months just so you can cross the finish line of whatever race in a relatively upright position. When I heard news reports of what happened at the Boston Marathon last year, I felt completely helpless. I have so many friends who still live in the city and are runners, and all I want to do was get on a plane from LAX and hug them.

This tragedy impacted the running world greatly, and me. So as my way of giving back to the city of Boston, the running community, and the victims of that tragic day who may never be able to run again, this Saturday at the North Shore Author Signing in Peabody, MA, I will be donating 100% of all of my sales to The One Fund.

Tickets for this event are sold out, but don’t worry. If you’re unable to make it, I’ll be making another announcement on Saturday of a way you can help give back the week of April 13th – 19th and it will make donating all my sales during the signing PALE in comparison… (100% of all sales through all retailers for the entire week… Just saying’!)

So for those of you who have tickets, stop by and see me. Grab a book or two and help to give back to the amazing city of Boston. I’ll only have about 50 books with me, but I will have order forms so that you can order books and have them shipped to you. Every dollar I take in on Saturday will go to The One Fund, no matter whether I have to ship the book out to you or not.

As always, thanks for your support!

Heart of Light Official Blurb

I know we’re all getting excited about the release of the third and final book in my Beautiful Mess series, Gorgeous Chaos in just 33 days on May 5, 2014, but I have released the official blurb for my current work in progress, Heart of Light. For those of you who have read A Tragic Wreck, you may remember the sexy surfer, Cam. Well, this is his journey…

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES EIGHTEEN AND UP DUE TO EXPLICIT SEXUAL SITUATIONS, STRONG LANGUAGE, DRUG USE, AND GRAPHIC VIOLENCE.

Twelve years ago, Jolene’s adoptive mother died. Twelve years ago, a man showed up at Jolene’s door and promised to take care of her. Twelve years ago, Jolene was happy. Then it all changed…

Jolene Bergio has spent the last twelve years of her life asking one question… Why? Why was she left in the custody of a man who would sell her each and every night to the highest bidder? After a few years, she shut off, giving up hope that anyone would ever find her. Until her luck changed one night and she escaped.

Twelve years later, she finally feels something she hasn’t felt in a long time… Free.

Almost.

Scared that her past will find her unexpectedly, she hides away in a rented beach house, trying to distance herself from everyone… Until Dr. Cameron Bowen enters her world and slowly tears down the walls that she has built up over the past twelve years of her captivity. Jolene begins to learn to love again.

And trust again.

But when a man from Jolene’s past emerges, will she be able to keep her identity hidden? When lies are told and hearts are broken, will the truth surface in time to bring Jolene back from the shadows that threaten to expose who she really is?

Heart of Light is a captivating story of love, strength, and survival.

Gorgeous Chaos Pre-Orders

Hi all. Just wanted to post about Pre-Orders for Gorgeous Chaos. One of the downsides of choosing to remain an independently published author is that we generally can not put our books up for pre-order on amazon, B&N, etc. Because of this, Gorgeous Chaos will not be available for pre-order on those platforms. I can not guarantee a time that the book will actually be live on May 5th, but if you follow me on Twitter and Facebook, you won’t be able to miss when the book goes live.

If you’re interested in pre-ordering signed paperbacks of Gorgeous Chaos, you can do so through my online store.

etsy

Right now, I’m running a pre-order special: $8 for Gorgeous Chaos (regularly priced $12) and $26 for the entire three book set of my Beautiful Mess series (regularly priced $32). These will ship by May 15th. They will not arrive before the actual publishing date, as I have to wait for the books to show up at my house so that I can sign them and send them out to you.

Again, I apologize that you won’t be able to pre-order my books, but I’d rather remain independent and be able to offer my books to you at a reasonable price than be able to offer pre-order but have absolutely no say in what the publisher charges. I have a say and I certainly plan on rewarding my faithful fans once again.

Thanks for your loyalty and support and I can’t wait to share the conclusion of Olivia and Alexander’s story.

In Case You Missed It…

Okay… So first… I’m sorry that I haven’t really been blogging much lately. Things have been CRAZY busy. But I’m going to try to do more blogging in the future. (I know, I know… I’ve said this before.)

And I’ll try to do some posts that aren’t just book related so y’all can see what a day in the life of the crazy T.K. Leigh is like.

Anyway, I had a great little cover reveal party last week on Facebook to celebrate the cover of the final book in my Beautiful Mess series, Gorgeous Chaos. During that party, a few friends stopped by the hang out… The schmexy Alexander Burnham and the gorgeous surfer Cam.

Cam made a little announcement. That’s right. In November of 2014, I will be publishing a new book titled Heart of Light and the male main character will be none other than our favorite Florida surfer, Cam.

Here’s a little snippet to hold you over.

THIS IS UNEDITED AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE BEFORE PUBLICATION.

“You know what? I won’t take whatever you can give me, Jolene,” he said fervently. “I’ve made that speech to quite a few girls in the past, and I’m not going to do it again. Here’s the thing.” He looked down before returning his eyes to hers, the fire behind them practically melting her.

“I want you, and I know you have your issues. I understand that, but I will do all that I can to make sure that you’re able to move past them…with me. I know it sounds crazy and that we’ve only known each other for a short period of time, but there’s something about you that I’m drawn to. I can’t explain it and I’m not even going to try to understand it. All I do understand about this whole fucked up attraction is that I want you in my life, Jolene. God, I want that more than anything I can remember wanting in recent history.”

Jolene could feel her heart thumping in her chest as she listened to Cam’s passionate plea. A strange emotion began coursing through her body and she didn’t know what to think of it, confused at how she could have such strong and intense feelings for someone that early on in her relationship with him.

“I want to wake up every morning and look at your smiling face as you watch the sunrise. I want my heart to skip a beat every time I catch you checking me out. I love that. I don’t want you to ever stop doing that, because I’ll tell you a secret. I’ve been checking out your body since the day we met and you walked away from me, calling me a prick or ass or whatever colorful words you chose to use. God, Jolene,” he hissed under his breath, his chest heaving. “The way you sway your hips.” He lowered his voice, his eyes becoming dark with desire. “It makes me fucking crazy, and don’t even get me started on your legs.”

Cam took a deep breath, hoping his words didn’t scare her. He smiled when he noticed her breathing increase, her chest rising and falling in a more rapid pattern. Her face was flush and her expression intense. She didn’t look scared at all. She actually looked rather turned on. “I will be patient,” he said. “But I want to feel those legs wrapped around me more than you can possibly imagine.”

Gorgeous Chaos ARC Requests

It’s that time already! I am officially fielding requests for Advanced Reader’s Copies of the final book in my Beautiful Mess series, Gorgeous Chaos. This has nothing to do with my blog tour. Sign-ups for that are entirely separate from this, but if you’re hoping to get on the tour, there’s a place for you to mention that to me in the sign-up request form. This is the same ARC that will be distributed during the blog tour. I am hoping there are some people who will read and review in advance of the tour, however.

THIS IS THE THIRD BOOK IN A SERIES!!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT READ “A BEAUTIFUL MESS” and “A TRAGIC WRECK” DO NOT REQUEST AN ARC. YOU MUST HAVE READ BOTH THESE BOOKS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT GOING ON IN GORGEOUS CHAOS. I WILL NOT BE DISTRIBUTING ARCs OF THE FIRST TWO BOOKS IN THE SERIES.

You do not have to be a blogger to request one, but preference will go to those bloggers who did not get on my blog tour. If you are not a blogger, you can still fill out the request, but make sure you have read and reviewed both A Beautiful Mess and A Tragic Wreck. The purpose of an ARC is for me to get some reviews in advance of publication. It is not for you to get a free book. Sorry if I’m a little blunt here, but I need you to understand exactly what I expect out of you when I grant you access to this book ahead of the general public.

Please, please, please follow the instructions on the sign-up sheet. I am only making ARCs available in two formats: Kindle and PDF. I am not doing ePub. If you request Kindle, you will only get the Kindle format if you give me the e-mail address attached to your kindle reading device. And you will need to add authortkleigh@gmail.com to your list of approved senders. If you asked for .mobi (Kindle) and gave me any e-mail address other than one ending in .kindle.com where I ask for that information, I will send you a PDF. Sorry. I’m trying to minimize my exposure to potential book piracy.

Because I’m not expecting to have these ARCs ready until early April, I am requesting a TWO WEEK MAX TURNAROUND TIME. (Meaning, when I send that ARC, the review needs to be posted within two weeks on Goodreads and then again on amazon once the book is live.)

Here is the official blurb, and please note that this book does contain GRAPHIC VIOLENCE.
